Lovely kind helpful reception staff and doctors

This practice is an absolute joke. Might be different doctors but same reception staff. Manager is beyond rude. On the 11th of October, a doctor was referring me to get an ultrasound scan on my foot as they wanted to make sure I hadn't ruptured tendons as I've been having the same problem with my foot for 2 years now. I hadn't heard anything back so I contacted the practice on the 1st of December to find out what was going on and they advised me to contact the hospital. When I contacted the hospital they had told me that the referral was discontinued and sent back to the doctors as the original doctor hadn't given enough information, the hospital had wanted me to see another gp and get a more detailed referral sent. I then had to contact the doctors again and when I done so they refused to admit their mistake and instead told me how busy a practice they are which yes, I understand but the hospital is busier and they had me troubling the hospital all because they couldn't admit their mistake. They then proceeded to call me back and tried to ask about a family member who is another patient which surely is not right. I DO NOT trust this practice and would not recommend anyone to go to this practice.

I am surprised there has not been a news story, describing a death from this practice. The reception staff have a difficult job with lots of patients and few appointments, but they are so rude and uncaring! Don't know what the solution is? Show a little compassion and patients will feel better and act accordingly. There must be a way to have more appointments, inviting more doctors/expanding the practice/combining with another local practice? Something needs to be done.

Have not had the need to use the service much over the last few years but recently I had to go through a series of appointments and tests.Sometimes you can't get an immediate appointment but that's to be expected. I have had regular appointments, phone appointments and early morning/evening appointments... all organised without issue. I have been treated like a human being and professionally.Overall I have to say it's been a very good service, dealing with various doctors and nurses. I'm sure people have different experiences and most people will comment when something hasn't gone well... so this is one of those 'rare' positive reviews :)I also noted the practice has dropped the old premium rate telephone number which is about time also.

If I could give 0 then I would. It can take weeks to get an appointment and the "phone up on the day" booking system in place is, at best, a joke. Trying for an appointment by telephone is pointless at this practice as;A) you have more chance of winning the lottery than getting through; and,B) if by some miracle you do get through, they reserve the right to judge the severity of your complaint (meaning you aren't high priority). Further they WILL NOT book you an appointment for the next day (you have to call up again the next day to book an appointment)... Or it will be suggested that you "can book an appointment in a week's time.... Maybe..."The patient is effectively caught in a cycle of endless bureaucracy and paper shuffling...It is so bad that that the Sick and the elderly queue up outside before 8am to try to get an appointment face to face and the staff make them WAIT OUTSIDE IN THE WIND AND RAIN... Despite the fact the the surgery is staffed, warm and dry for early morning appointments from 7am.. An absolute disgrace. How these people sleep at night keeping sick and old people waiting outside is completely beyond me... Outrageous.
