Wow!!! The phone system is appalling!!! Not getting your medicine on time when you order it and post the form in the prescription box, twice this has happened to me now and now I have none of my pain relief over the weekend this is unacceptable!
Most doctors and nurses are lovely...but the receptionists are a joke. Previously called to get a same day appointment and she was so rude, she then thought that she hung up but hadnt and I heard her mimic what I said and talk about me in a very unprofessional way to a colleague. Completely denied it and when I put a complaint in I got a letter weeks later saying that the receptionist in question didnt mean it like that she needs sacked. Horrible
Opens at 8:30 one in a million chance of someone actually answering happens all the time I have been trying to phone since 8:27 which is when it opened and still can't get through
There's only a couple of doctors that are good and some nurses but one of the receptionists has a very poor attitude and constantly interrupts when trying to explain reason for calling she needs sacking and to see her in person she's not that much better in the form of her to attitude and to top it off she's very slow
Where to start! O.K. Appointments. To get a same day appointment, patients have to queue from before 7.am----try that on a cold December morning when your temperature's up, or you're sick and disabled! Everybody knows you have to be there that early, as there are only a limited amount of appointments given out each day.Pre- booking----well, as we are often told, we could have to wait up to 6 weeks to be seen. And whilst we're on the subject of appointments, how come we always have to wait way past our time? Yes, everybody accepts there may be an emergency, but it is just the norm now. I at least always have to wait at least 15/25 minutes past the appointment time. And the waiting room. ! I know I've been spoiled.I was brought up in the days when Doctors where still paid per capita, and worked hard to get patients. Waiting rooms were warm and welcoming. Every poster on the wall would tell you why you SHOULD be there, unlike Craigshill Health Centre. The posters scream out, don't come here for this, don't come here for that, and even worse, God forbid if you're feeling suicidal,it's phone this number, (otherwise don't bother us)--and I still feel sorry for anyone who is struggling to pay their rent--because there they are in the waiting room, and a large sign warns them about the consequences of not paying--( why was a sign like that there in the first place)----I tell you, after sitting there for 30 minutes waiting to be seen, those walls make you want to run out.)To add insult to injury, when you finally get to the reception, the non stop computerised message throws home the fact that if we couldn't get an appointment, it was because x many patients didn't turn up last month.Well, tell them that, not the folks who do turn up!As to the staff, like all workplaces, some are brilliant. Thank you. Some not so good, and one or two need to hang up their boots. But above al else, please try and implement a decent appointments .system.Well, time has moved on, and finally a new appointment system has been put in place, and from what I hear, it has been an unmitigated disaster.. It's back to phoning for an appointment, between certain times, which mean only a lucky few get appointments, and nobody else does. If you are kept on the phone for too long, it cuts off, so no chance of seeing a Doctor. I heard tale of a Polish man, just released from hospital, who had been sent straight there with a note from the hospital to say he must be seen by a doctor that day. The receptionist told him he needed to phone first. when the man produced his mobile phone, he was told no, you MUST go home and phone---as this was later on in the morning, al appointments would have been long gone. I've heard more anecdotal tales, none of them nice. A few days ago, I noticed patients gaining entry from 8 am, and was told the system had changed again. I feel saddened that all these measures seem to be brought in place to allow Doctors to be even further removed from the front line of patient care. What ,with a large 'primary care team' nurse practitioners' ,receptionists whose whole aim is to prevent you seeing a G.P. It's as if they do not want to see a patient at all. And I strongly object to having to tell the receptionist why I need to see a G.P.It gets worse. a few weeks on from my last review, and getting an appointment is made impossible for most folks. In theory, you should go onto a holding queue when you phone, in practice, you do not. You re cut off every 30 odds seconds, and have to have the same thing happen, all the way through to 9 m, when of course all the appointments are gone.In not putting you in a queue, you have no chance of getting an appointment, and in theory, I see this as being denied the right to see a Doctor. A complete and unmitigated disaster. I for one feel there is room for a second health centre, and chemist in Craigshill.
